My gym offers a class two times a week that combines yoga, thai chi and palates. The class has sun salutations, balance positions, core positions, and stretching positions.
Since the class is only an hour long on Mondays and Fridays, is there a way that I can make the class more difficult for myself or make it so that I can burn more calories/tone more?
On the other days in the week I usually run and lift. Also, on Mondays I take the time to run a mile either before or after the yoga class (this tends to hype me up and want to make the class even more difficult) Unfortunately Fridays are different. The class is an hour earlier than on Monday...so I might not make it on time based on when I get out of the office.
So when I have this class only 1 day a week I really want to make it worth it and make it more beneficial.
What can I do? Can I wear heavier sweats? Can I bring a yoga ball into the class with me? What will help me?
Also, what positions are the most beneficial when it comes to toning? Sometimes I like to do the positions at home during the week since the class is only 2 times a week.
