How can I install a RAM of Memory 2 Gigabytes PC2 DDR2 on my laptop?

  1. open up the ram cover & snap it into place.....it's really the simplest upgrade to perform for most laptops.

    If there's no space left you may have to remove your existing RAM to accommodate the newer, larger capacity chip.


  2. Laptops are so compact and small that there usually isn't even enough space to install anything extra. You will have to take your laptop to a computer shop with the RAM stick to see if your particular make/model will accomodate it.

  3. Not possible to answer accurately unless you give us the make and model of your laptop.

    First, you need to determine if DDR2 is the correct RAM type for your machine. You can't use DDR2 in a machine that requries DDR1

    Then you need to know what your machine's capacity is. Not all machines will accept a 2 GB SODIMM module.

    Look in your machine's owner's manual or on the manufacturer's website. Or put the make and model number of the machine into Kingston.com or Crucial.com 's memory configurators to find out what it needs.
