Generally it's un-hook the battery, drain the system, make sure you're using de-static precautions, open the ECU, and replace the PROM.

The instructions usually come with the chip. After it's installed, it will set itself.

think you've posted in the wrong forum, you need the car section, but my understanding is there are two types, plug in and solder, locate the ecu usually under the passenger seat, and you should be able to tell which type it is
