Question:

How can I insure my son with AllKids?

He is 4 years old, and i believe, im not sure, that he is too old for medicaid now. I went to the AllKids web site, but, they want me to insure my intire family, I just want to insure him. How can I do that? Only with health insurance, not life insurance, car and home insurance. Thats what my choices were, not health insurance. Can someone give me a good website with either free or very cheap health insurance for children only, like medicaid. My fiance works, but, his company being in the tattoo industry doesnt offer medical insurance, or any other kind. They dont even have taxes taken out on them. I am a stay at home mother, b/c i can not afford to go to work, and pay day care. My whole check would go to day care. So it would be like im working to pay for day care, just to go to work. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you :)

  1. Go to the web site for the American Academy of Pediatrics.

www.aap.org.  I hope this helps you.

  2. There are many different options available for finding cheap health insurance for kids in Alabama.

Depending upon your income you may also want to compare the prices to place you and your fiance on a health insurance plan too because you never know if God forbid you will be hit with a big medical bill due to cancer, surgery, broken bones, or worse and you are the ones that need to be protected so that you can also in turn protect your son.

Here is some more information on finding children's health insurance and then specifically some info on Alabama health insurance options:

  3. I live in Alabama and our county health dept deals with AllKids as well as Medicaid. Call yours and see if they do as well. I hear you loud and clear...I'm a stay-at-home mom of five young kids (due again in Jan with #6), and we can't afford daycare right now either. AllKids and Medicaid are what we have going on right now. Good luck! :)
