    Claudius, after dealing with Laertes, turns to Hamlet, calling him "son"...Hamlet says, describing himself "a little more than kin and less than kind" in other words, he is more than just family...being both Claudius' nephew and his son by marriage...but less than kind meaning that he does not consider it a warm, friendly, loving relationship. He is expressing his disapproval of the marriage of his mother to his uncle. He was shocked by how quickly it happened after his fathers death.
