If you were or are apart of one can you explain how you got in. How does recruitment work anyway?

  1. The person above me is right - rush is different at different schools. There should be signage of some sort around campus advertising rush events. At some campuses, rush is when you visit each of the different fraternities on campus; you'll get invited back to ones that are interested in you. At other campuses, like mine, there is no formal recruitment. You come and go to fraternity events as you like; there is no "law" saying you have to visit each one.

I'm in a sorority, and the best advice I can give you about rush is to be yourself. Choose the fraternity that you feel the most comfortable in, where you feel like you could become close friends with the brothers. If you feel yourself acting fake around a certain fraternity in order to fit in, that's not the one for you. The fraternity that likes and accepts you as is should be the one you join.

    Hope this helps! Good luck!

  2. well im a brother of TKE. the easiest way to get associated with a fraternity is to go thru formal rush. it is organized by your college IFC (or any variation for the governing body of ur college) it is usually a week long process in which you go to all the fraternity houses and meet the brothers. if the brothers like you they will give u a bid at the end of the week. if you take the bid then you become a pledge of that fraternity. if you get more than one bid go with the one you feel more comfortable with. however do not chose more than one. another way is: if there is a fraternity that you have ur eyes on. maybe one that u really like then get to know the brothers. you dont have to go thru formal rush to get a bid. if you get to know the brothers and they like you, then they will give you a bid. Good Luck dude

  3. it's different at each school. There should be banners or advertisements for it up. Drive by the houses and see if there's anything mentioned out front. There's also a greek advisor. Ask him/her.

During rush, you visit each house and if they want you back, you'll get invited back for another night of meeting with the brothers. Do you have sigma chi's there? That's what my husband was/is. They were the best on our campus.
