I have a 9 year-old (or something like that) parakeet and he is on a cage hanging on the ceiling of my kitchen. I'm thinking about getting a small kitten, about 6/7 weeks old. How can I introduce them in a way that the cat won't hurt the bird then and grows accustomed to the presence of it?

  1. i dont think you can make the cat like the bird except in the usual way cats like birds.  I have heard of training kittens, and squirt guns being used , but you would never be able to trust them and would need to keep the bird in a cage away from kittys claws!

  2. lock da kitten n smak it

    it really helped

  3. If its posible for the cat to be from 4-6 weeks old he might get used to the parakeet and not eat him, not all the time it works. You might reconsider keeping him on a cage, since cats, tend to be very curious, at 6 months he might even try to eat him, out of pure instict.

  4. keep the parakeet in a cage where the cat can't get it, then......um....................i dunno
