In the morning and when I'm at work, I feel absolutely terrible (really depressed). I can't stand it because its 8 hours a day / 5 days a week. I feel so good on the weekends and I feel like myself, but just the thought of work messes with my mind. Its really affecting my quality of life.

  1. Perhaps you are not doing what you should be doing and the work is not satisfying. Look at your talents and what you like doing best and give it your all.

  2. Maybe you should look into getting a new job. Or if that's not an option, trying to change your job description/duties to make the day more enjoyable or at least tolerable.

Bring your iPod to work if you can and listen to music. Or bring in a crossword puzzle or something to give yourself a break every now and then.

  3. Sounds like the job you have got isn't the one for you maybe?  Find something that you enjoy- if possible.  I know its difficult at times.  The society we will live in today is difficult at times.  Unless you are one of the lucky people doing a job you enjoy then I suppose your work can get you down sometimes.  Yours seems quite an extreme case though so perhaps have a think about what else that you can do that you would enjoy more.  I don't think we were meant to spend most of our lives at work and therefore it isn't deeply fulfilling but the trap of finances unfortunately pushes into this situation.

  4. Don't take it so personal.  Its just someplace to go for 8 hours a day.  Do your job, then leave.

  5. try to make work fun. if your depressed tell someone, let it out., thats what i did. it really helped

  6. I had that too at first... you get used to it.  I went from a full time retail job (4 days a week, 10 hours a day) to an office 8:00-5:00 monday to friday.

Take deep breaths, make sure to get up and walk around every hour or so to keep your bloodstream going...

    Good luck

  7. It might be time to take a vacation if you are so privileged to be amongst the one who can.

remember if you can the direction we as a Nation are headed.

and if you can just for a second know that you have a pay check coming to you at the end of the weak.

homeless ant no way to go broe.

a new job or career choice may be open for you today.

have you ever thought about the army?

their are wavers of all kinds out their now.

    just a thought.

St. John’s Wort is a shrubby perennial plant with numerous bright yellow flowers. It is commonly found in dry, rocky soils, fields, and sunny places. St. John’s Wort has been thoroughly researched as a natural anti-depressant. Research has shown that this centuries-old herb has all the benefits of prescription antidepressants, such as Prozac, but without the side effects. It has shown to produce improvements in psychological symptoms such as Anxiety, Depression, Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) and Sleep Disturbances. St. John’s Wort naturally contains compounds of hypericin, a property that soothes the nerves relaxing the entire body. It can also reduce painful menstrual cramps and muscle spasms

  8. Have you thought about changing jobs.  Whilst its normal not to enjoy going to work and the amount of time we spend doing it, being depressed about it the whole time doesn't sound quite right.  Is there something you might enjoy doing more, then the thought of spending so much time doing it won't bother you so much.

  9. Ye mate, your not alone. Im a student now but i worked full time before i studied (16hr days 6 days a week for a couple of years).

When I worked in the construction industry, my tradesman and i would always say to each other whenever one of us was getting beat "keep going, it'll make the beer taste better!"

Now that im a student, i forget it's weekends sometimes. I guess having a hard work day makes the days off better.

    soldier on mate!

  10. Well, one way is to tell your manager you don't feel you're being challenged enough. Find out if there's something else in the company you can be doing. Failing that, sounds like it's time for a new job.

  11. Well, my husband went through this for a while. He eventually did need to receive therapy and medication in order to get through this depression. He is much better now. You may need to go this route while searching for other employment. It may be  that the position you're in is just not right for you. This is the case for my husband too. The job market sucks so much that the only way he can make it through the day is with a prescribed med. Sounds sad huh? It affected our lives greatly until he started taking medication.

  12. Is it any work, or just your current job?  If it's just your current job, I suggest you find a new line of work.

  13. Well, if you have a job you don't enjoy doing, you shouldn't be continuing to work there. You need to have a job you enjoy doing and don't feel depressed about. Do research and find a job you would love going to everyday and enjoy working with co-workers.

If you enjoy your job though, but are just in this depression phase, I'd visit your doctor. You probably won't need medication, but your doctor would try to help you out and suggest things you should do to get out of this phase.

  14. Think about the factors about your job that depress you. Is is the people? The type of work you do? Or just working in general? Address the situation and think of things you can really do to make it better. Whether it would be a co-worker issue or a boss issue. If it the type of work you don't like, change careers if you have to!! If it's working in general that bothers you, try doing a homebased business. It can be tough to get started but you may feel better being at home and making your own schedule.  Always remember this though- no matter what you do or where you go there are probably always gonna be people that annoy you! Trust me I know!

  15. Change your mentality.  Mundanely obvious and easier said than done, I know.

    I hope I've helped.
