How can I keep my Aussie accent?

I have moved from Sydney to Auckland about 2 months ago and I am already starting to lose my accent a little!

Are there any ways/tips that can make it stronger?

  1. you can surround yourself with aussie friends every weekend, and you will find when you start talking with aussies the accent comes right back.

      


  2. I think you'll find that you'll 'regain' it when you do go back to Australia for visits. I don't think you'll ever lose it, it's just that we mimic the accents of the people we hang out with alot. Or, hang out with Australians more.

  3. The people around you have a strong impact on you. Watch more Aussie TV shows, listen to Aussie music, make more Aussie friends!

  4. You know, I had the same problem when I moved to Canada. I bought as many Australian movies as I could find like Crocodile Dundee, Muriel's Wedding, The Castle, Japanese Story, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, etc etc.. and watched them as often as I could.

    I ended up coming home with a thicker accent than what I left with!
