Question:

How can I keep my car amplifier cooled?

I have a 2000 Chrysler Sebring Convertible and I am using an Alpine PDX-4.150 (http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/products/product.php?model=PDX-4.150).

I am trying to create more airflow in my trunk to keep my amp cooled. It doesn't overheat, but it gets hot enough so it lowers the volume on my speakers and they sound really muffled (almost as if its lowering highs but mids/lows are staying the same).

I would like to find a way to cool it better. Is there a way i can create more airflow? Or how can I hook cooling fans up to it?

I'm looking for any advice, really.

Thanks.

  1. Heighten your low pass filter on your amp.  You do not need to produce the sounds that you cannot hear.  This will greatly reduce the heat buildup within your amp by lightening the load it must amplify.

  2. If You Want Your Amp To Cool Down Buy One Of These!!
