My cat is getting very old, but still enjoys sleeping on top of the back of the couch and chairs.(she also sleeps on the table). I think she likes the height. When she gets into a deep sleep or scratches herself she falls off and lands on her side most of the time, rather than her feet. HOw can i keep her from falling?

  1. Try putting something cushiony by the side where she falls off. Then it wont hurt so much.

  2. If it's a habit then I don't think you can stop her. She is kinda old and they do like to do things on their own,. But I think you could move her when you see her up there and maybe she'll learn. If not then put a pillow or something extra soft to cushion her fall so she doesn't hurt herself.

  3. easy, dont put her on the couch...

  4. Every time she jumps on the couch, put her back on the floor or super glue her, lol.

  5. Don't let her on the couch or put somethine near it or on it that will stop her from slipping and break her fall.

  6. As a cat ages, it become more difficult to change what an animal does, so don't bother trying to keep it off the chair or couch. what you may want to do is sit in front of the cat so it won't fall down, or try to cushion its fall by keeping pillows on the chairs and couches.  Cats can easily live to be 30 if well taken care of, and I have a 26 year old Persian with the same problem. and I keep cushions on the couches and chairs so when she does fall, she doesn't injure her brittle bones.  Best of luck.

  7. Squirt her with a spray bottle when she gets up there.

  8. Duct tape
