My group is for family members and friends--all invited. Can I do that or does it have to be open to anyone? Can we keep our messages to the group private and only seen by our group members?

  1. Sign in to Group.

    Click Management.

    Under Group Settings, click Membership.

To the right of "Membership Type and Welcome Message", click "Edit".

Underneath Membership Type and Welcome Message and to the right of Membership Type, select Closed (only invited members can join)

    Click "Save Changes".

Please Note: If you select this option, web tools that were previously set to "public" will be restricted to members only. Once you have selected this option, you may not change it later.

  2. management- under group settings click messages- Posting and Archives (Edit) <-- click the edit- scroll down and check Archive Options to members- click save changes

management- under group settings click membership- Membership Type and Welcome Message (Edit) <-- click the edit- choies are open- restricted- closed. closed cannot be reversed, and really the best option is restricted since invites are glitchy and often never get to the intended person.

    click save changes

  3. You can restrict membership, so your members will join only by invitation. Here is how you can do it:
