Question:

How can I keep my longhorn steer from jumping the fence?

One of my longhorn steers is jumping the fence into the neighbors pasture to be with his cattle. We ran hot wire along the top of the fence, but he just jumps right over it. He has another longhorn, 12 horses, and 100 acres of grass on his side of the fence. I have to find a way to keep him in. Any thoughts?

  1. You might try raising the height of your hot wire.  Or, do you have a way of movng him to the opposite side (and keeping him there) of your property away from the neighbors cattle?

  2. get a Taller fence?
