I just gave a new little rabbit a home. I grew up with rabbits when I was younger but I just don't remember to much. What kind of toys are good for them? Can I give my rabbit a paper towel roll to play with? baby toys? Anyone one out there that knows about rabbits? Help

  1. Rabbits don't have to be busy.  They will run around the cage and jump if they feel the need for exercise.  Anything cardboard like paper towel rolls will be chewed up.  Just let the rabbit be a rabbit.  They don't have to be entertained.

  2. Old cardboard boxes, paper bags (without handles), newspapers, and phone books all make great, cheap toys. My rabbit especially loves ripping phone books to shreds.

If you're willing to spend some money, you can purchase some chew toys for rabbits or some plastic cat toys. Just keep in mind that rabbits love spending time with their owners (depending on the owners, I guess...)

  3. I have a rabbit too and there's not much you can  do to keep them entertained when you  are away. They like to run and jump! Mine likes to chew on anything she shouldn't. Wood blocks are always a safe bet though.

  4. When your not around, just get  someone to play with it. Make sure its someone u trust

  5. My rabbit mostly re-arranges her hutch while I'm away during the day.  I use hay as bedding so she digs in it and pushes it around.  I also got this awesome bendable wooden thing from the petshop and bent it into a tunnel which she jumps on, runs through, and chews on.  I got her a carrot shaped toy made out of rope-like stuff for chewing and throwing, but she only plays with it occasionally.  I've heard rabbits often sleep a lot during the day anyway, they are crepuscular (sp?) so are most active at dawn and dusk.  Your rabbit will be happy if you give attention each evening when you get home.

  6. why dont u try getting it a friend or something....

    my rabbit like chewing toys

  7. Congrats on your new rabbit.  :)  Here are two articles I wrote for my kids that I think you'll like and will help answer your question quite well.  We also use Kritter Kabobs and wiffle golf balls for all our rabbits.  Enjoy.  :)
