Question:

How can I keep my two month old entertained?

I bring him to work with me (lucky me!) and he sits next to my desk in a bouncer. Lately he's been staying awake more and I can see that he wants to be entertained! What can I do to entertain him...besides hold him!

  1. I get to take my son to work as well, but I let him entertain himself for the most part. When you need a break, go play with your baby as you normally would, then go back to what you were doing. Boredom builds imagination and innovation. Constant intertainment hinders that, so be careful about playing Mrs. Three Ring Circus all day long.

  2. Lucky that you get to keep him with you at work but he should not spend the majority of his day in a bouncer.  Give him plenty of supervised tummy time and floor time. The activity gyms with toys that hang down are great for developing their motor skills.  A boppy is great for tummy time and for propping them up on their back to play.

Too much bouncy time and he won't develop his neck muscles and can develop a flat head and/or head tilt.

  3. Lucky you indeed! I convinced my manager to let me work at home and he agreed, which I am very happy about :)

See if you can attach something to his bouncer (or put next to it) that moves, like a mobile or like those 'tvs' that you can wind up with a revolving picture. At that age, all the can do is look at things.

Also, you can put him in a sling/baby carrier so he can be on you and you still have your hands free to continue working.

One more thing: check how long he's allowed to sit in the bouncer at a stretch. I heard babies need plenty of lying down time as well, so they don't get back trouble later on in life.

  4. does your bouncer vibrate and have toys. if not you should getone.  or try an excersaucer

  5. If your co workers don't mind you could sing him songs. Read him a book and give him rattles and other toys to play with.  You are lucky! I can't wait to get home to my little one.

  6. read him books, sing him songs, show him things, get him little rattler toys or a light up phone.

  7. On his bouncer get a bar that goes on it that has toys and mirrors on it so that he can look at them and try to reach out and touch them.  you could also get a gym and put him under that on his back with a boppy pillow holding him up more.

  8. I got my little one an "ABC" toy that sings the alphabet, and he loves watching/listening to that thing.  I just hang it on an attachment on the bouncy seat.  I think any thing that jiggles, makes sounds, or moves a bit would be great.  He also loves staring at himself in the mirror.  If you could hang a little baby mirror, that would entertain for a bit.

    Hope that helps!
