  1. You could have taken measures to seal windows with new caulking, doors with new insulating tape, and seal any cracks you might have, sometimes closing off doors to unused rooms may help, have blown insulation put into the walls.

  2. Insulating the walls is a tricky and expensive process. What the ancients did was to hang cloth such as tapestries on the walls to keep the heat in. Odd way of doing it these days, but hanging things like throw rugs in the most exposed places will help.

  3. well the new thing is to if not already put in carpet becaus wood does not trap heat is will just let it fly out of ur houyse

  4. Blow in insulation in your walls, a bit spendy, but very effective, good windows with good seals, weather strip around your doors...keep south facing windows exposed to collect sunlight during the day, you can vent your dryer into your house by putting old nylons on your vent hose to collect lint...the list goes on. Some utilities companies will do an energy audit for you and tell you exactly what to do, and as for the above answer, carpet and rugs will help, but heat rises, so not all that much.
