How can I keep snakes out of the Hen house. they will begin laying soon. Thanks for your help.?

something that is safe for the chickens if they get into it ( and they will) r moth balls safe?

  1. There are various snake repellent products available (I've put a link to just one of them).

    I've also heard that moth balls are good at keeping them away.


  2. Easier to seal off openings the snakes can get in through. My henhouse is off the ground about one foot and openings I have cut for hosing it out are covered with screen.

  3. Get a cat snalkes dont like cats cause they chase and bother them.  Plus a cat is likely to chase off weasels and rats

  4. chickens will destroy snakes ever throw one into them they will peck and kill em and tear em apart at least the ones I have do that make sure the grass is cut low and the hen house is clean this might be why you have a snake problem

  5. My husband puts out moth balls...the snake can stand the smell and the moth ball on their skins. they run from it.!!!
