How can I know if I already have antvirus installed on my computer?

Where do I check to see if I already have antvirus protection?

I just bought a computer but did not buy the antivirus protection because my daughter said she could download it for free. She tried to download it but she does not know if she was successful or not.

slow computer? go to www.geocities.com/cameronnet2000

go to security center by going to start run> wscui.cpl click ok if it says security center disabled  go to start run and type services.msc and ok, scroll down until you see security center and right click it select automatic and click ok and on the side click start, otherwise if security center is enabled see if antivirus says on then antivirus is running!!

check out scanning any software if it gets scanned for antivirus than ur computer has it

It was probably Avast or AVG, so search for those.

Go to avast.com and download Avast home

well i can think of two ways of checking

first go to control panel>security center> and see if windows detects any antivirus software. (note some of the antivirus windows doesn't detect)

also... most antiviruses usually are in your startup.

go to start>run>msconfig> startup tab> and see the name of your antivirus. if it is there and it is checked then you have an antivirus. if not then just download it and install it again

try avast 4.8 or avira free

both are good.
