How can I know if I have a G or N wireless card in my laptop?

  1. If its older than 2 or 3 months It's probably a G. I seen a few newer laptops advertised as N


  2. 1. Go to "Control Panel".

    2.Click on "Device Manager".

    3. Open the "Network Adapters" listing.

    4. Among the listings, look for a sequence of letters that say something like "abg" or "bgn".

    If you see an 'n', then you have a wireless card that supports the 802.11n standard.  If you an "abg", then your wireless card will only support up to the 802.11g standard.
