How can I know if my family had an accident?

They were driving from Miami to Chicago and we are expecting news from them since last saturday and they haven't called and today is monday (we are not in the States) -they left Miami apparently last saturday-

Well, for now you can't.. maybe you can call some of your family's close friends and see if they've heard anything? You've tried calling  them right? Wait one more day and maybe you should call the police.. when were they expected back?

Maybe getting a hold via phone with police officers and those who are able to track down a certain person, but what you would really need is a license plate number.

DO you have their phone number? Just call them, that's easy.

Call the Miami-Dade police department (google their #) and give them your parents names, have them check with the state police as well.

call they non emergency police number and ask if there have been any car accedence.

If they don't have cell phones, try calling the place they were going to stay at.  If they've arrived safely, you can talk to them.  If they have not arrived, they could have stopped somewhere along the way - it's an extremely long drive.

If you really felt like you needed to, you can go to google news and type in car crashes.  It'll list all the news stations with recent car crash stories.  Not all are for your family - there are stories that aren't from America.  

If they don't contact you for a while longer - say another few days, I'd suggest contacting either the police or the FBI (since it's an inter-state case) and turning in a Missing Persons report.  The FBI has some overseas offices, as well.  You may have to go there.

try calling them if that doesnt work call the state police deparment of all the states they pass through and see if any accidents were reported if not the best you can do is wait.
