How can I learn a foreign language without taking classes?

I've wanted to learn either french or more german (I took one year in high school), but I'm wondering if I can do it without taking classes. From your personal experience, have you been able to learn another language without a class? What methods and/or resources did you use?

  1. read books! like me i'm reading a book on how to speak in japanese in just a month it's very effective i tell you i have learn so much!

    Just buy books that is about learning new dialects and languages!


  2. I would say making a friend who speaks that language will be helpful a lot. You can also use online chat.

    5. Have friends who speaks the languages you want fluently

  4. you could buy a recording or a book and teach yourself. My friend is learning that way. She bought a language book and everytime she gets quiet time she learns with that.Quick and simple!!

  5. Grab a book teach yourself that's how I learned when I had French class, or just take Rosetta Stone.

  6. try to buy a dictionary, or buy an interactive cd that will help you to learn and speak the words in rightly..
