I've even shyed away from slow dancing! Eventually I'd like to learn some salsa and some swing, but for now I'd settle for comfort slow dancing, and the ability to dance at bars and clubs.

I think dancing is romantic, and since I love the ladies, I'd really like to have this skill. But I'm too inhibited, it seems......................

  1. try dance lessons, there are so many types of dance out there, go out and have some fun learning then have some fun on a night out or something :)

  2. go on youtube, sometimes they have instructional videos or take a class

  3. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!!!

  4. There's often classes to learn to dance available; check your local phone book or search the web for dance studios that offer casual dance classes like this, or for leisure learning organizations that offer a range of enrichment-type classes, which often include dance of various types.

  5. Dancing is nothing more than moving to music. Try getting

comfortable with your own sense of rhythm first by putting on

the music you like and just swaying back and forth in front

of a mirror. Then try a few subtle moves, looking at yourself

to see if they look OK to you. There are no rules here. Put on different CD's, all types and repeat all these things until your

body sort of takes over..it will. Don't judge yourself too much,

just flow with it. When you're convinced that at least you

can move to music without being embarrassed, call up a

friend and have them come over and start you out on slow

dancing and a few basic moves for other types. If you want

specific dance instruction, there are people that will give

you private lessons so you don't have to dance in front of

anyone until you're confident and ready. It's too great a

pleasure to continue to not do it. best of luck, it's such a

    joyful thing!

  6. HA!  What does your age have to do with anything?!

Just take some friggin dance lessons, have a taco or two, and watch  experts dance like Jeff Duncan the best krumper alive or Michael Jackson the the the the the the the the the  moonwalk dude.  Ha.  Yeah.  I know.  Yeah.  Ok.

    Go to dancetube.

It's not a real website so you're going to have to go to Youtube and watch instructional videos some of them are real good.

  7. That's what ballroom studios do for a living. Though many of their students progress to true ballroom, it isn't the dancing in tails and ballroom gowns but social dancing that pays their bills. I didn't start until I was in my forties, and most of the other guys learned enough to get the social skills down, then quit. Plenty of ladies continue, but we guys can pretty easily become among the best in our age group through simple attrition!
