  1. Salut = Suh (SUm) - loo

    Dessus = Duh - sue

  2. The 1st & 2nd links have audio files for salut & dessus, respectively.  Listen and practice, record your voice so you can listen to yourself & correct (alot of people don't hear their pronunciation errors from speaking alone).

    Many anglophones have a problem with the "u" sound in both words as it doesn't exist in English (as far as I know), the 3rd link has instructions on how to make this sound; my French phonetics instructor gave us similar instructions, and they work!

    And to note, when dessus immediately follows a syllable ending in a vowel sound, the "e" is not pronounced. For ex, "au-dessus" sounds like "aud-su."

    Good luck!

  3. that's a good question............and hard to answer.

    Salut, you don't pronounce the "T" at the end. Otherwise, it's like salutation in english.

    Dessus, it's a little bit harder. you don't pronounce the "s" at the end. I can't find a word with the sound "eu" to explain how to say "e".

    Except hearing it, i don't know what to say !!!

    Sorry

  4. sah-lü

    duh-sü
