How can I lessen or get rid of my sunburn?

I am a bridesmaid in a wedding on Saturday. I was helping my friend on her farm today and I look like a lobster. What are the chances of my not giving the bride a heart attack when I show up on Thursday night? I don't care about pain per se, I am used to it I'm really fair. I just don't want to ruin the perfect day because I had to help out my friend. Any ideas?

  1. Well, you could try a light color foundation, or maybe use like that Jergans lotion that gives you a tan in like 3 days; its possible that could lessen or get ride of your sunburn.

  2. Use Heinz White Vinegar and rub it generously on your burn. Clean your skin with Noxzema Facial Cream, not only for the face. Take some cool showers. The vinegar smell will dissipate quickly. You need to do this at least twice a day. After you apply the vinegar, and leave it on for a while, then take a cool shower, after getting out, use the Noxzema Cream, leave it on for a while, then use water to wipe it off. The Noxzema Cream will feel cool also. If you get any blisters, don't break them. Here's a Little tip, nothing to do with sunburn though. If you use a razor to shave your legs, put Noxzema on first, then shave it off. Your legs will feel great and smooth as silk. I wish for you the very best young lady, and I certainly hope all goes well for you. Good luck.

  3. I know this sounds awful, but try putting some vinegar on your skin. It smells gross and sounds awful, but it really works. And try putting Aloe Vera on your skin, along with a good non-oily moisturizing lotion. The vinegar helps stop the burning and hopefully the Aloe plus a good moisturizing lotion will help keep you from peeling so badly.

If you had some Silvadene Cream, that would probably help, too, but it is only available with a doctor's prescription. And it may be too late for that to be effective on anything except the burn. You may still peel but if you see that you are beginning to peel, don't pick at it and pull off dead skin. Slather yourself with moisturizer instead. It looks better if you let the dead skin come off on it's own rather than using something that will draws extra attention to your reddish, peeling skin.

Whatever you do, do not use anything greasy on your skin because oil makes your skin burn worse.

  4. Use aloe vera gel.  Can buy it at local pharmacy (ie. cvs, rite aid)

  5. Yep vinegar is great!!!
