  1. It is on BBC National DAB (DAB digital radio required), and identified by the short name of 'BBC WS'.  It is also, as another reply tries to suggest, is on 648 MW/AM.  A selection of World Service programming is also broadcast on Radio 4, between closedown (usually 1am) and The Today programme at 6am.

The World Service is an international radio station.  This means that it is funded by the UK Government and not through the licence fee.

  2. Try the internet: http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/

  3. It's on Radio 4 frequencies from 1am to 5am, but other than that i would share your frustration if i didn't have digital or the internet.  Have you considered shortwave?

  4. ask the people you pay your tv license to

  5. Get a digital radio - it's on there!

I had one for Christmas, so I know!

You can sometimes get World Service on AM where I live (near Birmingham) but only after dark and the signal is poor.

  6. go here, choose your city and get the info you need
