How can I listen to UK radio or watch TV shows from the USA via a PC?

I am a UK resdent working in the US and cannot listen/watch to programming from the BBC or SKY on PC via their 'players'. Any idea's please?

I use ovguide.com to find all of my favorite television shows that I miss. And, yes, I am from the USA. Just type in what TV show you are looking for in the search box (after clicking on the link below) and you are almost certain to find any episode from the tv series.
