  1. His home

  2. Call the nearest local Newspaper Office in that Area... -They should be able to help You... News of Car Accidents usually appear in those...

  3. Medical examiner.

Hopefully he's just gone home uninjured. Have you tried other friends and family?

  4. The important word in your question is "Friend" and with that both the hospitals and police departments will not give out any information unless you are a family member and also depending on the type of accident this will limit what is given out even to the family, try contacting anyone from your friends family to see if they know anything.

  5. I purposely make myself scarce after a trauma. Your friend may not want to be found right now. Good luck anyhow, just remember this.

  6. If there were no injuries, it may be next to impossible to locate your friend.  Many police depts. only take a written report if victims go to the hospital.

If the hospitals don't have him listed in the ER,  be sure to stay close to your phone for him to contact you.  There are many reasons why parties involved in a crash may be otherwise busy following a crash.

If you've checked both the local police and the Calif. Highway Patrol for serious accident reports,  chances are you're friend may not have been in an accident at all...
