How can I lock my room from the outside?

Im 15 and im going camping with my family but my older brother is working as an excuse to not go. This is the first time hes staying home alone and im almost sure hes going to have a party

I want to know if theres any ways I can lock my door from thge outside?

Please keep in mind i'm leaving in an hour and dont have enough time to switch doorknobs or buy a lock or anything.

  1. Is he allowed to have parties?  Tell your parents to ask a neighbor to keep an eye on the house for you and drop in to check on him.


  2. Well if theres a keyhole on the outside of the door then make a key with a coat hanger or something like that and lock it. But i guess if you dont have a lock maybe you can try barricade the door from the inside with a pole or furniture and go out of the window.

  3. You can buy a "hasp" from the hardware store for less than $5.00, mount it on the outside of the door and lock it with a pad lock. Your room will be secure from all but the most ambitious thief.

  4. lock it from the inside if you're on a first floor, people won't go to the trouble of climbing through your window to get in your room, but you can when you get back, just leave it unlocked

  5. Can you not lock it and pull it closed?
