How can I look bare foot for a Halloween costume but still have foot protection?

Well I've decided to be Sadako from "The Ring" for Halloween. The only problem is that to get the real look of her I need to be bare foot. That said, I don't want to be walking around (for hours) bare foot. So does anyone know something I can wear to give the illusion of bare feet? I don't really care what. Keep in mind it should be pretty comfortable, though. Oh and, yes, I've considered clear flip flops and such but I'm wondering if anyone has a more creative idea! :)

If you're not worried about the cold, get some clear liquid latex (found at Home Depot) and coat the bottoms of your feet with it. This will protect your feet (mildly) from glass and sharper rocks.
