Question:

How can I lose the rest of my pregnancy weight??

Ok..I had a gorgeous perfect baby girl a little over 2 months ago! Well, I gained about 55 pounds while i was pregnant. (I KNOW..that's a lot!) I dropped 30 pounds almost immediately, with no effort at all. Well now this last 25 is just not wanting to come off. I had a c-section so i'm not really able to do a lot of stomach exercises, and most of the weight is there. So i'm needing some advice on how I can lose the rest of the weight. I don't eat unhealthy really..no fast food at all, and i'm always on the go. I have a full time job, I'm a full time college student, and now I have a 2 month old!! So I don't really have tons of time to hit the gym, or cook good healthy meals. Moms, please help me! I know I will more than likely never have my pre-baby body back, and i'm fine with that, but I would love to lose a little more weight!

Please answer only if you are a mother! If you haven't had a baby and had to deal with the bulging tummy, then you just really don't understand! Thanks!

  1. i am the mother of an amazing little boy who helped me pack on the pounds too. i gained 50 and had a c-section as well and my weight loss at your point was the same. i actually went an entire month and only lost a pound. i am very busy as well and didn't want to lift weight or get a pass to a gym so i ran for an hour in the evening so i could pull out the stroller and he could enjoy being outside too. he will be five months in about a week and i've been back to my normal weight for about a month now but i still have extra skin on my belly (i'm sure you'll know what i mean when you get there). i'm stilll slightly devistated but i know in time it will get better. remember you had a c-section so you didn't have the kick start most women do on their weight loss. best of luck!

  2. I gained 75 lbs with both of my children and although I didnt lose ALL 75lbs, I did lose approx 70lbs. Drink tons of water, walk and do mommy and me exercises that will be fun for you and your baby.  Soon enough she will be running around and you will be burning even more calories.

  3. I hear your pain. I had two babies what seemed like back to back ( they are sixteen months apart). So I never lost the weight from my first baby when I found out I was pregnant with my second.  I have a busy schedule as well. These are the steps I have taken:

    1. I walk on my lunch break at work.

    2. Depending on the flexibility of your work, I bought little weights that I lift while I am answering the phones and I also do squats and such.

    3. I eat every few hours instead of three full meals.

    4. I try to eat most of my food early in the day and I eat really light at dinner time.

    5. I don't eat anything after dark.

    6. I have been eating lots of lean meat, low fat cheeses and fruits and veggies.

    7. I strictly followed the South Beach diet for a month or so and now I just use it as a guideline.

I lost about 30 pounds in seven months. It is hard work but when you start the South Beach Diet you lose the first ten pounds pretty fast and it encourages you to lose more.

I think the most important thing is to realize you are a mommy now and rest and energy are what you need. So I would gradually work on losing weight. I didn't start the South Beach until I was done nursing and my son was seven months old.

    Good luck and Congrats.

  4. For future references.  Breastfeed!  It burns many calories at one time.
