How can I lower my 400m time in track by 2 seconds in 15 days?

Please answer, I am 14 my current time which is my personal best is 59.3 and I want to make it around 57.0-57.5 in 15 days. What should I eat and what should I run. What and when do I eat the day of the track championship. I need as much help as I can get. I have run 4 meets and won 2 undecisively and 2 I won only by a second or 2.

Hydrate your body before the meet, not the night before throughout the week like if your meet is on Friday, drink water and eat right, up until Friday, on the day of the race drink in intervals, the day before the race, do something to relieve your stress ; ), and lastly...........GO TO PRATICE AND TIE YOUR d**n SHOE!!!!

  3. Trying to find a new "wonder" food or drink for an important race is exactly the wrong thing to do.  You want to stay with things that you know aren't going to upset your stomach. Stick with whatever you've been eating before your other races.

    Don't train hard right up to the day of the race. If I were you, and I had been training hard all season, I would taper off the week before the race. The day before the race, I would warm up, stretch out, and then hit the showers.

  4. don't worry about it, you don't need to eat anything special you are only running the 400, this is too short of a race to have diet affect at all.

    to take time off like that there is a particular mind-set you need to get in. you just have to feel it that race. I, for example, ran the anchor of the 4x400 two weeks in a row, both after running the 3200 10-15 minutes before. the first week i ran 55.8 after a 10:06 2mile, but the next week i ran a 53.8 after a 9:45. you just have to feel that you can go fast and it helps to have someone fast ahead of you to run down.
