I am 13 years old, meaning I should get about 10 hours of sleep. I am going on vacation on Saturday, where it will be an hour later there. When I go there, I always have trouble sleeping at night because I am so excited for the next day, plus, I always stay up till about 1:30 in the morning. I either wake up really early or really late. What should I do?

  1. To help yourself fall asleep when you finally make it to bed, try some good relaxation methods:

    Breathe Deeply and Slowly.

Focus on your body and your breathing.

Starting at your head, flex and relax each muscle for 30 seconds and release.  For example, flex your forehead (burrow your eyebrows) and then relax them.  Now flex your cheeks, relax, neck, relax, shoulders, biceps, triceps, hands, fingers, abs, butt, legs, toes.

This should relax you and help you get your mind off the next day so that you can fall asleep.  Don't stress about getting 10 hours of sleep on vacation, but do get some sleep when you're lying in bed!

Good luck and have an amazing vacation!

  2. i guess don't sweat it too much, you are on a vacation- it is alright to mess with bedtimes a little bit when on holiday- you should settle back into regular sleep patterns within a few days- it is ok-dont worry about it too much- have fun on your holiday, ok?
