  3. Uuhhh, I just had mole for lunch.  There is no one way to make mole.  Did you know that there are as many different types of mole as there are states in Mexico and you can probably double or triple that amount.  There's Pipian, there's mole poblana, mole dulce, etc etc etc.

the one I ate today for instance was made by my mom.  She's from Guanajuato.  Besides the chiles she adds sesame seeds, apples, bananas, peanuts, toasted bred, and chicken broth.  Hers is a deep red color.  I have an aunt that makes it with chocolate de tabla and it comes out sweet.  Other people make it with different kinds of chiles and it comes out green.  My suegra makes is very oily.  There are different recipes, techniques, and ingredients that go into every single mole.  find one that you like and enjoy.  If you're just looking to make a one time dinner and not really trying to learn how its done you can always just buy the stuff that comes in this little jar (you can find it at any grocery store in the ethnic foods section) and all you do is add chicken broth.  Good luck and enjoy!
