Question:

How can I make XVID movies play on dvd player??

I downloaded a couple of movies from the internet, they were (.avi) and "XVID", I chose them because they had small sizes and good resolution. Now I want to copy them to a dvd disk as they are (.avi) and "XVID", but someone told that not all dvd players can play "xvid". So the question is:

Is there a way to burn the movies as (.avi) and play them on a dvd player? If yes then what should they be (XVID,VIDx) or something else?

Or do i have to convert them to become (.vob)

My dvd player is nothing fancy, so whats the type that would play on all dvd players (not a computer).

Thnx in advance.
