I've found a good offer on a 2 camera cctv set. However I need to make one of the cameras vandal proof.

It's the camera that will be on the front of our terraced house. But we're thinking the neighbour whose purpose it is for might try and vandalise it. How can we make it vandal proof?

We can't afford a vandal proof camera.

  1. put it very high (over throwing height of about 20ft) and place it in a reinforced container , metal cage or perspex bowl).

Just like the CCTV cameras in town!

  2. put a cage around it, and cover it with a plant so he doesn't know it's there

  3. Put a small cage around it to prevent them throwing objects at it.

  4. Firstly read the rules regarding intrusion for CCTV systems.

i.e. The camera MUST only cover your property and not any neighbours.

Secondly, mount it high enough so that if the neighbour tries to damage it it will have recorded his image trying to reach it.
