How can I make a Photoshop file the smallest/viewable online with least power consumption that I can?

  1. Have you tried the "Save for web" function (File->Save for Web or Alt+Shift+Ctrl+S) ? It gives you the option to choose between different qualities and tells you the size the picture will be (the smaller the faster), the file format will be jpeg. If you mean (since you wrote PS-file) a psd format, just forget that, because you actually need a program capable of viewing that and that would be not functioning on the web 'cause the file must be opened completely (with PS or Gimp or anything like that).... Jpeg is savest, also gif works fine for the web, can use transperancy too (mainly used for animated pics though). Other formats work too but jpeg and gif are smallest... and most common. The quality isn't too great on both though (but low quality = small file size).

    You can also change the file format using "Save as" function...
