How can I make a custom gradient in photoshop?

I want to blend to colors so I can use them in a gradient in a rectangular box in photoshop cs3.

to fill the rectangle, select it and go to gradient tool and than double click on the edit gradient and a window open than click on load to select preset gradient or u can make ur own gradient in than window...after selecting the gradient take the cursor inside the box(be sure that the box is still selected)than drag the cursor toset the starting and ending point of gradient

Click the gradient tool then on top click once on the gradient. It should open up a pop up menu. Just double click the colors on the slider and change them.
