How can I make a first good impression on my 1st day of college?

I just transferred out of a JC into a university. Next week is the first day....I want to start fresh and new.

  1. Show up on time to classes (not running in at the last minute, but a few minutes early), bring your book, take notes, ask questions if you get confused, introduce yourself to the professor after class.


  2. Just be yourself and your personality will do the rest for you.

    Remember others are feeling exactly the same as you on their first day, so maybe you could make a friend by breaking the ice first with a little question like, "I'm from ...., where are you from?" You'll probably find he/she is very relieved to have someone to talk to.

Meeting people at junior college and making friends will not be all that different from the process that you will use at the university.  When you get into class, sit near the other students that are already in class, smile, and be friendly.  If they ask you a question, answer it and then start a little conversation.  Making friends is at college is really that simple!
