Question:

How can I make a goat cream seperator?

I have a few dairy goats and can't justify a $300 cream seperator for them, so if anyone has sucessfully made one of has any ideas, please let me know. I am pretty crafty if I have to be.... thanks so much!

  1. I had dairy goats for years and made lots of cheese.  You don't need a separator.  Put the milk in a wide container and put it in the refrigerator. It will separate, but very slowly.

    If you get 10-20 gallons of milk a day, check the local feed store or dairy. Sometimes they have, or know of, used separators for sale.


  2. Um, sorry I can't be of much help on building one, but perhaphs you could check out google or some other places. Or you could go see a machanic they might know how to make things work.
