How can I make a good Joker costume?

I want to be the Joker for Halloween. I want to know what i can do to make a good costume.i don't want to buy one. i'll buy accessories for the costume like, jacket, paint, ect., but not one that comes ready. i want to look like the heath ledger joker. if anyone has dressed like the joker for premieres and stuff could you tell me what you did? thanks.

u need:

-a green-sh tie with squares

-a pair of worn out shoes from a thrift store

-a pair of purple dress pants (you can either buy them, or buy a pair of white ones and dye them with purple with RIT)

-a lite blue button up shirt (you can find the pattern on the shirt online, print it onto iron-on paper, then just iron it on)

-a green tuxedo vest

-purple leather gloves

-a purple trench coat

-white face powder, there are tons of tips to put it on to look like the joker

-black eye-makeup

-blood-red lipstick (and if you want the scars, just put elmer's glue on your face where you want the scars, but not too close to your mouth, and let it dry to get a dead-skin-look, then just put the lipstick over it)

Search around on ebay and if you can, look through thrift stores near where you live. You can get the makeup from a costume store, it's the clothes that are harder to find.
