How can I make a light up hula-hoop?

The ones you can buy are way to expensive, the event these are needed for is a charity event so we obviously don't have enough money!

Glow sticks are 99p and good rythmic hoops can be around £15, so it's silly to pay £65 for a ready made!

Anyone know of any cheap light-up hoops? Or HOLLOW TRANSPARENT hoops?
