How can I make a nice video with caption and music to upload to youtube?

I'd like to make a video with nothing but captions and music (no images) to upload to youtube. what program do i need?

you can use windows movie maker or you can use an online movie maker called jumpcut

As you have mentioned windows xp then you are lucky you got pre installed Windows Movie Maker.

Start/All Programs/Windows Movie Maker(some times in entertainment) you should locate and open.

This is the best safest, easy way to make video for any purpose.

Look at left side when you open windows movie maker.

You will see Movie Task,

Capture Video

Edit Video

Finish Video

Movie Making tips

(This could be different in case of version or windows vista)

Under Edit Video click on Import audio/music and import what you want, then drag them on time line below.

After doing this Click under Edit Movie on Transition, Title etc this is the place you will find useful in your case.

After adjusting audio duration, setting captions, when you are satisfied save this as Movie/Video.

Note do not save as Project(Ctrl+5 Ctrl+12) if you want for youtube. Project will not work on youtube. You must not make mistake save as Movie/Video(Ctrl+P), give title, choose size and format of video and save some where on computer.

use windows movie maker (included in your windows machine)... it can help you make beautiful slideshow or video clip(e.g. mixing your songs with pictures/video/lyric/etc).... then save it as video file such as wmv file format... finally upload.

or .. Just get those clips you want , save & convert them, and then mix/match with pix/sound/etc using windows movie maker to create new masterpieces....

this will help you.... Use 'zillatube'. This is the easiest (and also the fastest) way.

Zillatube produces mpg/mp3 formats from youtube that are compatible with windows movie maker(or media player), and more.

It is very easy to download and convert videos. Then edit those converted mp3/mpg videos with windows movie maker... save your file as wmv and then upload.
