How can I make a picture's size smaller?

I have a picture which size is 463 KB at the moment. I need it to be about 200 - 300 KB. How can I do that?

This may/may not work.

Instead of saving it under what you have it saved now, save it as a different code.  (The part after the name like Example.gif)
