How can I make a room look more friendly, eg beanbags, cushions. ?

At home there is a room that i get to renovate. The wall is blue and we have a big t.v and a sofa in there. Although it looks nice it doesn't fee very friendly. Any ideas on how to make it look nicer. Please no expensive things, just siimple stuff

  1. repaint the walls to maybe a cream or pastel colour. why dont you make some cushions, there quite easy to make and then load your sofa with them!. Get some pictures and frame them, this will make the room have more personality.

    Also have draping curtains, they will soften the area, so have a solid colour material then get a sheer material to drape over it, like organza.

  2. Blue is a very cold colour so you need to put a warmer colour on the walls.  You need to define 'nice' does 'nice' to you mean cosy and comfy or does it mean stylish and contemporary.

    If you have all the big stuff, you just have a furniture showroom. A sofa's a sofa; yes, they're all different, but in the end it's a place to sit.

    Choose some items that you bought while you were on a trip and you really love — it's there because it reminds you of something. It shows curiosity, it shows interest. It shows something about the person.
