Question:

How can I make a table / seating plan for the wedding?

I need to make about an A3 size display for the reception so that everyone knows which table they are sitting at. Any ideas on how to do this without it looking too terrible? Being A3 it is hard to print straight on to it so I guess I'd have to cut things out and paste them on? What about what to use? Eg. paper will be too flimsy. Where would I have it on display (eg. on the wall using blu tac???). Thank you

  1. f**t on it

  2. I would recommend using at least 60 lb bright white paper, maybe even 90 lb or heavier. 90lb is like poster board, its called cover stock and it's pretty thick.

I would also recommend taking an 8.5 x 11 to a copy center at Office Max or Office Depot or Staple and asking them to blow it up. You can take it in on CD and they can do it that way to.

  3. Do it on a managable size then get it copied to the size you want.

  4. You could print something at home on regular 8.5x11 paper, and take it to a print shop to blow up to A3 (should only cost a few bucks). At the print shop they can also put it on some foam board, and perhaps even provide a basic stand so you can put it on a table.

  5. u should give poster

  6. You should be able to make the document in Microsoft word if you have that program. You would need to change the paper settings though. They have a drawing tool bar that will allow you to make the shapes of the tables etc. If your printer is not able to print A3 see if a friend that works in an office is able to do it for you, just save the file to a CD or USB drive.

Also another alternative would be to just list the table numbers and which guests are sitting at each table rather than a diagram. It should be done on card to be more sturdy.

You could either blutack it to a wall or where the reception is being held they may have a stand for you to put it on.

    Hope this helps!

  7. Check this wedding site for ideas.

Most of links from this site has never open to public. You may give a try.

  8. Have a buffett and open seating instead

  9. I would be tempted print it out on A4 from my pc then take it to a printers (eg Kwik Kopy) and get them to change it to A3 and also laminate it so it's not flmsy. You can also buy little easels from art shops to display it at the entrance to the dining room.

  10. For simple planning, I use Excel. Set the grid lines to about 1/4" and use RightClick>FormatCells>Border(or Border Pen) to draw lines.

Set the paper to A4 Landscape and the two page print will sellotape together to form a single A3 sized plan.

Tables can be numbered 1 - N; seats A-? and an alphabetical list of names may be displayed, each with a TableSeat reference.

  11. give every table a number and have the # written on the place card and you can color code the place cards to match the choice of food(this way the servers know).  you can have people look up there # then go to the tale and find there place card if you want to place people in certan chairs other wise you can have people just go to the table and sit where they want. hope this helps

  12. I would look it up on internet

  13. what we did to get a table planner that big is go to a website and the one we used it www.toptableplanber.co.uk

Then saved it to cd and took it to a printers which cost 2.50

We then transferred it to a canvass and put it onto a canvass
