  1. impedance match them to your AMP, most require a 8ohm speaker minimum.

some car speakers are 4ohm so you'd burn the amp.

You could put 2 in series in a cabinet then that would give your 8ohm.

  2. Hook it up to an a/v receiver.  The impedance of the sub should determine how much power the receiver will give to it.

  3. In my experience, Car speakers are best left in cars. They are tuned to work in cars not houses. The biggest problem will be the impedence. if you have a receiver that can not go down to 4 ohm you will not be able to use them anyway. Most car speakers are 4 ohms.

Yes you can connect 2 speakers in series but now you are talking about 2 speakers being connected just to make one speaker. You would need 10 speakers for 5 channels.

It would probably be more cost effective and sound better to just get a budget surround sound speaker system.

  4. In general, car speakers work in open enclosures like behind rear seat/in sides of front seats, etc. Fitting them in enclosures will give you a different tone.

The cubic capacity of the enclosure box of the speaker determines the output quality of the sound. Unless and otherwise you are an expert, don't try to use an enclosure as you please.

Buy 2 different size of an enclosure and try them. you can notice the difference in the melody.

Consult an expert in Audio, before trying.
