Question:

How can I make it up to my dwarf hampster?

For the past couple of days (three or four) I haven't paid much attention to her, I changed her water and food, cleaned her cage last night and let her roll around, but for the few days before that I've been up for an hour at best before crawling back into bed because of a bad swimmer's ear infection. But I think she might have understood? I keep her cage right next to my bed, and she kept coming up to the side of the cage and sticking her nose out towards me and standing on her hind legs looking at me whenever I turned towards her cage.

Anyway, now that I'm finally feeling better, I really want to make it up to her. What is something I could do for her that she'd enjoy?

  1. lol play with her? Give her extra food

  2. play with her extra and give her some of her favorite treats!

    keep her out alll day!

    good luck! ☺♥♥☺

  3. Believe it or not, I believe that your hamster did know that you were feeling well.  Animals tend to know such things about those who take care of them.

I would just make sure you let your hamster play with you there...on the floor or bed.  If you can give it some fresh fruit like apples or veggies like carrots.  (very small amount though)

  4. Just give her attention and love! The best thing about animals is that they never hold grudges! There always there for you no matter what

  5. I am sorry for your pain.  My daughter has a swimmer's ear infection also.  I don't think that your hamster is holding a grudge.  You showed you care just by giving her food and water and changing her cage.  Just give her extra attention by holding her and playing with her.

  6. Give her some treats and hold her often. They love atention and some hamsters like to rest up on your shoulder to have a good view. You could get her a couple of toys, and some places they do make rodent harnesses so you can walk them outside.

  7. My hamster always likes it when i put him in his little hamster ball and also, just holding him and petting him helps too.
