Ok does anyone know any legit way that i can go around and have people download something/anything from a link and for each download I could earn some money? Is there any legit way out there to do something like that? could someone please let me know? thank you.

Whatever you are offering, you have to get the word out about it for people to know that it exists for them to download it.

If you already have the product and link ready to go, you then need to begin promoting it.
