  1. sylvan learning center. it sucks and its expensive but it works.

  2. um try making it fun for her.

  3. set a routine. when she gets home from school, let her have a snack and drink and relax for a bit. then at a certain time make her come sit down in a place without distractions and do homework and any extra work you feel would be good for her. shes still young, so don't overload her with work. once shes finished, allow her to watch some tv or do something she likes, like a reward for good work. and make sure the work she does is also fun and interesting, as she will learn better this way and won't get bored and throw tantrums. x x

  4. Set aside time each day to sit down with her and go over her school work.  Make sure there are no distractions in the house...like a younger sibling or the tv on...she needs to put all of her focus on her school work for that time of the day.

  5. take away t.v and computer privileges [or take away the stuff that she likes]. she will eventually pick up her homework and finish it and she will eventually pick up a book and read it. and when she starts to focus more in school give her back her computer and t.v privileges [or giver her back the things that you took away from her] to reward her. thats what my mom did when i was in 2nd and 3rd grade and it straightened me up. i started to get good grades and focus more in school after she did that.

  6. I took mine out of public school to homeschool them.  Too many distractions in school.  Children are children and making them sit for so many hours and be bored makes them not focus.  Try and make her homework fun and it should help.

  7. My friends parents are paying her £10 for each GCSE she gets an A in. i wish my parents were paying me to get good grades. You don;t have to pay her that much, but you could say if you get good in a test you will take her out, or something. Reward her whens she well in tests and stuff.

  8. When studying and doing homework, a set routine works best.  Have her do it at the same time and place everyday.  Make sure that there are no distractions either.  She can do it when she gets home.  If she wants to play with her friends then, fine.  Do it right after dinner.  Before the evening shows come on.  Make yourself or your husband available to help during this time.  If she does well with this, make sure that you reward her with something special.   Again, time and place, plus no distractions.  Good Luck!

  9. Yes, I agree with A M.  I homeschool my daughter, who's 13, and have for several years.  It has many benefits.  You have one on one time with your child, you avoid having them "learn" all of the "bad" things from the students, and it's focused time.

Also, no one will have a gun, knife, etc.

  10. Straight to her room after school ... no tv, video games , computers , or whatever she likes til she's done .... you may want to let her have a snack before she starts.

She'll get the idea in no time .
