I have a 2000 Grand prix gt and my headlights seem to be pretty dim. I have newer phillips halogen bulbs in there now, and they just don't light up the road how I would prefer. I'm thinking of a H.I.D. conversion....Any suggestions?

  1. The wattage of Halogen is limited by law.  So they are all the same brightness.

But HID are exceptionally bright (because of loophole).  So if you can afford it go that way.

    good luck...

  2. HID,s are a lot brighter ,so if you can go with those i would ,i changed mine over and their almost twice as bright as the old ones was, they cost more but are well worth it,good luck.

  3. H.I.D's work great but can be costly....

try turning on your fogs...they help

  4. Clean the plastic in front of them. With time it yellows and gets faded. They have cleaning stuff made to clean them up and restore them to how they used to be.

  5. A common problem with GM vehicles. The sockets they use to connect power to the lights are pretty low grade and oxidize easily. Use valve grinding compound to clean them by squirting it into the socket (disconnected from the light, of course) then sliding the socket on and off of the headlight prongs several times. Repeat if there is real bad oxidation. Then flush the socket with distilled water and wash the headlight prongs with it too.

  6. Put in some H.I.D. lights.

  7. Have your headlight alignment checked. It can make a huge difference.

  8. depending on the bulb type, they have over wattage bulbs available.

i know they do for the h4 type bulbs at least.

also, they have switches that allow the high beam to be on with the low beam.  just don't use it with oncoming traffic.
